In February 2009, the previous Paris Chinese congregation became what is now Paris Chinese South (a Mandarin congregation), and a new congregation, Paris Chinese North, was established. The latter is also a Mandarin congregation, but they also have a Bible discourse translated from Mandarin to Wenzhounese every 2 months. ... One of the suburbs to the northeast of Paris, Bobigny, now has a Mandarin Chinese congregation (formed in September 2011).”

tiandi.info Map Now Uses the Google Earth Plug-in

The Map of Chinese Protogroups, Groups, and Congregations at tiandi.info has been enhanced with Google Earth Plug-in technology. This allows the current map file to be viewed, zoomed into, etc. right on the web page without having to be downloaded and opened in the Google Earth program. Of course, this option is still available for those who want the bigger view and other additional options offered by the full program.

An example of the power and resolution of Google Earth and the Google Earth Plug-in is that thanks to precise directions from a sister in the Nairobi Chinese Group in Kenya, this group’s placemark on the Map now points to the exact building in which it meets, the Nairobi Bethel Kingdom Hall.

As shown on the current Links file, I have started a new blog over at tiandi.info. Here is a quotation from its About page:

“Matthew 13:38 says ‘The field is the world’, and ‘田地’ (tiándì) is the Chinese term used there to translate ‘field’. The Chinese field is indeed worldwide, reflecting the presence of Chinese people all over the world. ... This blog will contain original content that I hope will provide a deeper look at this worldwide Chinese field and at what is involved in being in it. Some of the thoughts expressed may be relevant to other fields as well.

A Sacrifice

This recent post on the PandaGator blog offers a personal experience about an interesting concrete example of the kinds of sacrifices and adjustments some make to further their service in the Chinese field.

For those for whom English is not their native tongue, this dictionary page tells us that “nuts” does not necessarily mean “insane; crazy”, since another meaning is “extremely enthusiastic”.
