MEotW: zǒuxiàn

The Mandarin Expression of the Week is:

How are some people in the Mandarin field’s territory like “sheep without a shepherd”?

List and Map at tiandi.info Updated

The List and the Map at tiandi.info have just been updated. You may want to have a look at them if you haven’t done so for a while.

These are some of the recent developments:

“In France: Paris now has two congregations! In February 2009, the previous Paris Chinese congregation became what is now Paris Chinese South (a Mandarin congregation), and a new congregation, Paris Chinese North, was established. The latter is also a Mandarin congregation, but they also have a Bible discourse translated from Mandarin to Wenzhounese every 2 months. ... One of the suburbs to the northeast of Paris, Bobigny, now has a Mandarin Chinese congregation (formed in September 2011).”

The List and the Map at tiandi.info Updated Re Japan

Recently, a brother in the Chinese field in Japan kindly sent me the complete list of Chinese congregations and groups in Japan as of the beginning of this service year. He said:

Last month we successfully finished the magnificent Chinese District Convention. We had 2,472 attendants, including 26 congregations and 31 groups. More than 1,600 pioneers are working in Chinese territory in Japan.

I just recently was able to finish updating the Japan section of the List and of the Map at tiandi.info with the extensive information he provided.

tiandi.info Map Now Uses the Google Earth Plug-in

The Map of Chinese Protogroups, Groups, and Congregations at tiandi.info has been enhanced with Google Earth Plug-in technology. This allows the current map file to be viewed, zoomed into, etc. right on the web page without having to be downloaded and opened in the Google Earth program. Of course, this option is still available for those who want the bigger view and other additional options offered by the full program.

A static screenshot of some Google Earth Plug-in content. The content on the Map page at tiandi.info is live and interactive, and it is bristling with placemarks representing Chinese protogroups, groups, and congregations all around the world.

An example of the power and resolution of Google Earth and the Google Earth Plug-in is that thanks to precise directions from a sister in the Nairobi Chinese Group in Kenya, this group’s placemark on the Map now points to the exact building in which it meets, the Nairobi Bethel Kingdom Hall.
