Jehovah’s Will Brochure Pīnyīn-English Web Material for Lesson 3 Added

Jehovah’s Will brochure Pīnyīn-English web material for Lesson 3, including the full text of all the cited scriptures, has been added to:

Note the following re the above resources:

  • The existing 3-line PDFs already cover up to Lesson 8. (Go to tiandi.info/jl for the links.) With the new Pīnyīn-English web pages, I now plan to first fill in the material for up to and including Lesson 8, and then to finish the rest. That way, when the time comes to study the Jehovah’s Will brochure at the CBS, people can just use the Pīnyīn-English web pages for it if they wish.
  • For your convenience, a short link is available for the above resources.
  • The full text in Pīnyīn-English of all the cited scriptures is included in them.
  • They are mobile-friendly—they are quite legible and usable on everything from desktop/laptop PCs and Macs to iPads and other tablets to iPhones and other smartphones.
  • The Recommended Browsers: sections in them contain information about how to get the best viewing experience.
  • Besides being viewable online, they can also be downloaded and used offline. Of course, they can be printed out from your web browser as well. (More details are included in their Offline Viewing and Printing sections, which include a link to a special PDF file for printing out the content of these web pages.)

Also, the introductions explain why it’s good to use Pīnyīn as a writing system on its own.

See the below post for an introduction to the above resources:

Going forward, I plan to focus primarily on producing Pīnyīn and Pīnyīn-English web pages such as the above, because they offer various advantages both for myself and for users.

I am also working on eventually making available some more EPUB files, which are relatively easy to produce from the Pīnyīn and Pīnyīn-English web pages. EPUB files can be easily downloaded and used offline, and they can also be annotated.

Pīnyīn NWT Bible PDF Now Available on jw.org

I am very happy to report that the Pīnyīn edition of the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is now available for download in PDF format from jw.org. Thanks go out to the one who tipped me off about this.

Now, anywhere we take our mobile devices, we can have the entire Pīnyīn Bible with us without having to carry around the beloved but big and heavy paper version.

I have prepared a new short link with information on how to obtain this and other Chinese field resources related to the New World Translation Bible, which has been given the code bi:

There is also a direct link to the official Pīnyīn New World Translation Bible PDF at this link:

(The above link lists direct links to the official Pīnyīn files found on jw.org as of the date listed on the page, and it is maintained by the one who produces the RTE resources.)

In addition, I have updated the article “Pīnyīn Was Plan A” on 3lines.org to say that

“Happily, the Pīnyīn New World Translation Bible is even available in electronic form on jw.org now.”

Jeremiah Bk. XLP-iPhone-A5 Size LN-A 3-Line Material for Ch. 15 Posted

3-line XLP-iPhone-A5 size files for Chapter 15 of the Jeremiah book are now available for download from the Jeremiah Book (3-Line, XLP-iPhone-A5, LN-A) page (short link: tiandi.info/jr). The files have LN-A (LinkNav and annotation (notes & highlighting)) support, and they are available in Pinyin+Simp. Chinese and Sidney Lau+Trad. Chinese versions.

These Chapter 15 files complete the 3-line XLP-iPhone-A5 files for the Jeremiah book. The next publication that will be studied at the Congregation Bible Study is the Jehovah’s Will brochure. Here is the short link for Jehovah’s Will brochure resources:

To help explain how the XLP-iPhone-A5 files may work well on a variety of mobile devices, the following paragraphs are included on the Jeremiah Book (3-Line, XLP-iPhone-A5, LN-A) page:

While the regular files use letter size as the paper size, these files named with “XLP-iPhone-A5” use A5 as the paper size, and are especially suited for use on devices such as the iPhone, the iPod touch, and other devices with similarly sized screens, such as Android phones. (See the 3-Line Material on the iPhone and the iPod touch page for instructions on how to use these files on an iPhone or an iPod touch.)

The XLP-iPhone-A5 files should also be a good fit on 6" (15.2 cm) screen Kindles and other similarly sized devices, as well as on tablets with 7" (17.8 cm) screens, as long as these devices have PDF support. (Note that landscape orientation may work best, as explained on the 3-Line Material on the iPhone and the iPod touch page.) Some may prefer to use these files on larger mobile devices like the Kindle DX or the iPad as well. (See the 3-Line Material on the iPad page for instructions on how to use these files on an iPad.)

Also, instructions are included re how to download the files on an iPhone or an iPod touch using GoodReader for iPhone, and how to download the files on an iPad using GoodReader for iPad.

The relevant folders at the 3lines.org site contain an HTML file (web page) with a link to the Jeremiah Book (3-Line, XLP-iPhone-A5, LN-A) page.

Important Note Added to Pīnyīn-English Web Pages

The following important note has been added to the Disclaimer sections of the Pīnyīn-English web pages:

  • IMPORTANT: Please do not use this material as an excuse or as a crutch to just “get by” or “muddle through” at Chinese meetings or Bible discussions. By all means, make good use of this material in such settings, but most importantly, use this material to help you really improve your knowledge and understanding of the Chinese language, so that you can 1) listen with more understanding and 2) speak more effectively from your heart while praising Jehovah and preaching and teaching the good news in the Chinese field.

The above applies in principle to 3-line material too.
